About

James Hoadley was born in Adelaide and has lived in Melbourne for more than 20 years. During high school, James learnt how to use a dark room which sparked an interest in photography. He took up digital photography in 2008, moving from cheap compacts to DSLRs in 2010.

James's interests include cityscapes, astrophotography and people photography.

He regularly photographs Melbourne, and in 2011 some of his city images were published on The Age website.

In 2019, James undertook a six week photography course, which deepened his skills in portrait and wildlife photography. This experience encouraged James to take the next step by exhibiting and selling his work.

In 2020, he was part of Magnet Galleries' virtual photo exhibition called 5km Radius. This group exhibition documented Victoria's 5km restriction on travel during the Coronavirus outbreak.
